shutter tieback

Our All of our stock tie-backs are priced and provided with “lag mounts.” Basically a lag screw that attaches to the building with a “stand-off” tube to cover the lag threads and position the tieback at our standard 1 ¾” from the face of the structure. This is the most common tie-back installation situation. It works well with brick faced buildings, but isn’t always the best approach. With a contemporary frame structure, you must locate a stud to accept the ¼” lag threads – you can’t always position the tie back where it looks best. On stone structures, it’s tough if the tie-back installation position falls on a hard rock, or right on the edge of a small stone.

The following tie-back mounts are based on historic examples and will satisfy any restoration needs as well as offer new constructionists the advantages enjoyed by early homeowners. We’ve designed our optional tie-backs mounts to work with any of our tie-backs, and each is designed to avoid metal-to-metal contact to preserve the finish and eliminate traditional rust points. We’ve accomplished this by allowing for and including nylon bushings to segregate the tie-back from its mount.
