Tiebacks > Contemporary Examples > 861-SS Doodle™
(ca 2001-present)

shutter tieback - doffle“Doodle” is short hand for dancing dolphin – it’s standing on its tail. I thought it would be fun to use functional shutter tiebacks to “stencil” the front of a shore house with local creatures, thus my dolphins and seahorse. The doodle rests in the vertical position, looks like it’s standing on its tail and jumping up onto the bottom of the shutter.

But wait….. the “Doffle” is the flying dolphin. This tieback rests horizontally so you can position the dolphin along the vertical edge of your shutter. Its back is arched and either the nose or the tail can be used to hold the shutter open.

So…. You can have one doffle jumping up onto one side of the window, one doodle with it’s tail 1/3 of the way up the adjacent shutter like it’s jumping off. Next window has a doffle jumping onto and another jumping off. Stuff like that.
