Tiebacks > Side Mount/ Offset > 804-O Beacon Hill™
(ca 1800-1900)

Start with a regular “ Beacon Hill ”™, hammer the tail over
to 90˚ and it's offset. There’s still enough weight in the bottom
of the tieback to maintain the proper balance, but the “head” of
the tieback reaches across the shutter stile. A similar solution is pictured
in Albert Sonns Early American Ironwork. Not a factory standard, so thanks
to the install guy who figured out how to make it work.
