Conditions of Sale

We really like to talk to our customers…. Shutter hardware can be tricky to configure and it’s always best to spend a little time up front to avoid problems down the road. Defining an integrated solution considering shutters, hardware, and your installation circumstance is the best way to insure a successful installation and often save time and money. Please call before ordering, we may well have suggestions to simplify the process and improve your results.

Delivery Time

We try to keep as many of our stock items on the shelves as possible, if we have it in stock, your order will generally ship within two business days. There is such a wide range of variables at play here that it’s often impossible to keep enough of everything on hand for immediate shipment. Another good reason to call, we can confirm availability and ship dates.

For semi-custom – that is standard size hardware but with customized offset, throw or hole placement – allow 3-5 weeks for fabrication, finish, and packaging. Knock off a week if the hardware’s ordered unfinished.

Custom hardware can take 5-8 weeks for delivery depending on quantity, complexity of the pieces and our work load.

It’s easy to forget about shutters and hardware, they’re usually among the last things to go on any construction project. But the project isn’t complete without the shutters. I can’t tell you the number of customers who wait ‘till the last minute to think about installing shutters they ordered months ago… by the time they realize an off the shelf solution won’t work they’re in a bind. The scaffolding’s about to come down, the landscapers have to come in, the wedding’s next weekend….. All good reasons to figure your shutter hardware solution early in the project.

Finish options

  • Unpainted
All of our hardware is priced unpainted - you can save by painting yourself. Unpainted hardware is shipped as fabricated. When you purchase unpainted hardware, we bulk package your shipment.
  • Galvanized
We offer durable, paintable, and environmentally friendly mechanical galvanizing as an option on quantity purchases or custom work. Adds about three weeks to delivery plus shipping charges to and from the galvanizing plant. Advisable in oceanside situations. Quoted to your requirements.
  • Painted
We currently have our “painted” hardware commercially finished with an extremely durable automotive process called “e-coating”. Trailer hitches, alternator brackets and other such metal pieces that are subject to extreme weather conditions are processed in the same plant. This finish is much more durable than any other applied finish that I’ve seen. Each piece is acid and base washed, dipped in a bath of liquid monomer which is then baked to polymerize into a complete plastic shell around the part. Powdercoating is then sprayed over the e-coat and the piece is again baked to cure the powdercoat. This finish is far superior to powdercoating alone, which – due to the laws of physics – does not completely cover many parts. The corners where pieces bend or meet, fastener holes, and inside hinge barrels are particularly hard to cover with powdercoating. It’s a charged particle thing and the reason that you’ll see powdercoated plant hangers with the little squirrels and hummingbirds quickly rust in the corners where the pieces join. E-coating eliminates that problem by dipping the part to insure complete coverage, while the final powdercoating provides a hard semi-gloss finish that’s resistant to UV fading. Painted pieces are individually packaged to protect the finish.
