A Brandywine Forge original, this simple but heavy steel latch is designed to satisfy contemporary needs. It can be mounted on either side of the shutter so it can be locked from the inside or outside of the home. Its narrow profile allows mounting on the vertical shutter stiles – you don’t need a lock rail spanning both shutters.  You are free to position the latch at a reachable height on your shutters.

When installed to lock from the outside, the storm latch rests behind the shutters when open.  This satisfies historic district concerns while still affording a strong and secure locking mechanism.
