Hardware and Shutter Mounting Options

However the windows are situated on the structure, you have two options when attaching the shutters to the building:

  • You can mount the pintles (thus the shutters) to either the window frame (or casing) or directly to the structure itself.
  • You can define the shutters to close within the window opening or to mount outside (I say “proud”) of the opening.

In our years of configuring hardware to make shutters work, virtually every installation comes down to one of the following situations. As always, “virtually every” means there are exceptions….. and we’ve dealt with most. Please call with questions.
