Lightweight Shutter Hinges & Pintles > 405 - Parliament Hinges

lightweight shutter hingesThese plate steel hinges were common from around the civil war to well into the 20th century. They’re a mortise type hinge that mounts perpendicular to the building and onto the side of the shutter. The shutters close into the window opening.

I don’t know why they’re called “Parliament Hinges”, but came up with five sizes that fit most installations.

Our light hinges are made of 14 gauge steel (.075”), are three inches high, and cover 3/4 ” of the thickness of the shutter.

Our heavy parliament hinges are made of 1/8” thick steel plate. They are 4” high, come with #12 flat head screws, and are 1” wide where they meet the shutter.
