Heavy Shutter Pintles > Overview

The pintles attach to the structure and provide a pivot point on which the hinges swing. All of our heavy pintles are fitted with 1/2 ” diameter pins that mate with our heavy strap hinges. We offer a wide range of pintles to address as many installation situations as possible.

Our goal is always to provide hardware that is easy to install. Pintles are the key to an easy installation that works with your construction. Too often I’ve seen beautiful moldings that have been butchered to accept cheap hardware, or original windows nearly destroyed in removing the original pintles. That’s a lot of time, effort, and money spent only to destroy the integrity of the structure. Selecting the new pintle which works easily with the structure is a major consideration in planning any shutter installation. We have many hinges that work with existing original pintles.
